Harry Potter on ebooks? That is utterly convenient and a new way of reading the fantasy novel than carrying all seven books. But does it sound new to the ear?
It has been 14 years since Harry Potter novels are released. It’s always something to look forward to every year as is with its movie version. A must read if you are not contented with the movie or just wanted to widen your horizon about Harry’s quest to overcome the Dark wizard Lord Voldemort who wants to become immortal and conquer both wizard and non-wizarding world and pursue its evil desires.
The digital editions (as well as the audiobook editions) of the Harry Potter novels are now available and can be bought in English language. Editions in French, Italian, German and Spanish are next in line. The electronic books or commonly known as ebooks (or e-books) are accessible on e-readers, tablets, personal computers and mobile phones. The first three Harry Potter ebooks are priced at $7.99 each while the remaining four, which is a bit lengthy, cost $9.99 each.
Unfortunately some pirated PDF’s were already available online and I had downloaded a few before (I will not mention where). So in my opinion this buzz won’t make it big in the market. Why would I spend dollars when I can just download it for free anyway?
And why would I collect ebooks when nothing beats to saving up the seven hardbound books of Harry Potter novels? It is more durable and can be lend to others without the fear of losing it but for it to last a longer time, you need to dust off dirt and be responsible in handling the book and prevent enemies like termites and molds to lurk on these babies.
J.K. Rowling, the author of the renowned novels, should have made this move earlier by venturing to ebooks immediately after the book’s physical copies are released which sold an estimated 450 million copies and been translated into more than 70 languages. What took it so long is because she retained the digital rights to her works when she signed her publishing contracts.
Despite Ms. Rowling’s digital titles are currently on sale, it was overrun by the latest “Hunger Games” trilogy by Suzanne Collins, dominating the ebook sales which is not surprising because it is something new to acquire and people are almost always on the prowl for something new, just like with the saying goes, “out with the old, in with the new”.
So is it still worth to invest on the Harry Potter ebook series? My verdict is, it is worth a try but insignificant to have in one’s gadget.

The books are even better than the eomivs. WAY better, although I like the eomivs too. As for your other question, I highly recommend you read the other six books in their consecutive order before reading book seven. Book 7 has a lot of references to things that happened in the other books and things that are explained in the other books. It is best appreciated after having read the rest of the series. But you won’t have a problem because books 1-6 are also spectacular.
