Finally the three original Game Gear games are making a comeback after a foul break! The following games: Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble, Shinobi and Dragon Crystal are now available on Nintendo 3DS eshop worldwide.
In Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble, Sonic and Tails are assigned to collect five of the Chaos Emeralds scattered across Mobius planet after an experiment exploded which is headed by none other than the evil genius Dr. Robotnik.
What is new in the gameplay aside from the usual faces is that the game introduces a new hunter, Nack the Weasel who will race with both Sonic and Tails and wants to get their hands on the Emeralds first. But let us not tend to forget the adorable redhead Tricky Knuckles who wants to join in the hunt too. You may say it is a “triple treat” or maybe it is like the title itself Triple Trouble.
Nintendo promises that Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble is packed with “three times the action and triple the trouble! Loop, blast and super spin-dash through six zones, five bonus rounds and a wild 3D stage”.
Or play the role of a mysterious ninja in Shinobi or G.G. Shinobi in Japan and save Ninja Valley from destruction by fighting the dark forces using the mastered art of Ninjutsu.
According to Nintendo, “the Shinobi series returns in stunning 3D. Master multiple moves, battle the enemy and explore a world with a unique visual style.” Hearing the word 3D always gets me excited but it is the content itself that will make it interesting in the long run.
Dragon Crystal, wants you and your loyal pet dragon to pass through 30 worlds of unearthly beauty with deadly demons lurking that is ready to attack you. Your goal is to search for the Magic Goblet and then find your way out of the crystal.
Among the three, I find Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble the most interesting since racing with other (and new) characters is thrilling and dashing up on a curve is pretty challenging!
